🧠Wiggly Wednesday🪱

so, i was tagged by the lovely @steddie-island (thank you dear!!) and.... well, i'm not a writer but i do have an idea that's still very prominent in my head.

Maybe some of you already read my CrimeSceneCleaner Steve ficlet... and there's actually more plot that i came up with. So here we go! Let the worm wiggle: cw: blood, death, MC injury

Steve doesn't work with the police nor is he bound to any mafia group or hitman agency. He's freelancing that cleaning gig which means he has to stay absolutely neutral, not only for his own safety, but in order to land jobs. He can't pick sides, obviously.

But Eddie, who's been smitten with Steve since he first laid eyes on him, keeps calling him for cleaning jobs, so... they flirt and of course they both develop a crush. And Steve starts to prefer getting jobs from Eddie so they can see each other again. Because meeting outside of a cleaning gig? Way too dangerous for both of them. So they stay professional, not doing more but an exchange of flirtatious quips.

That is until Steve's not getting any calls at all from Eddie anymore. He's been waiting for weeks now but there's nothing. Steve doesn't read too much into it. He’s a little disappointed he doesn’t get to see Eddie, but other clients have made him wait months for a job before.

One night Steve's phone rings. It's a job in a factory building outside the city. When he arrives, accepts his money from the guys up front, then enters the halls and stops. He sees the massacre that must have taken place.

Blood and dead people everywhere. He takes a quick walk around to assess the scene until he stumbles across a body on the floor. A body with dark, curly hair, lying in his own puddle of blood.

Steve drops to his knees because of course it's Eddie. Eddie, who's eyes flutter open, painfully slow. He's still alive but barely breathing. Left behind to die. So Steve breaks the one and only rule; Don't get involved.

This time, Steve does. This time, as he reaches for the gun next to Eddie, he will leave a bigger mess then ever before.

Big TW for pet loss

Hey, clangen tumblr and those who just enjoy the silly cats on this blog. I know it's been a little bit of time since my last update, but unfortunately during the past few months, I have been caring for my closest friend, Comet.

She's been my best friend for 15 whole years, and on February 9th of 2024, I'm sad to say that she has passed. I won't lie when I say that this is one of the hardest posts I've ever made, but I want to continue this blog in her honor. Normally, I have a terrible habit of just letting projects like this slip by me and gather dust; however Comet was meant to play an integral part within the blog to immortalize her, and I refuse to let something meant just for her to go to waste.

I want to thank you all first of all for being such an amazing community. I've genuinely had so much joy come of this blog, and it pains me that I let it go stagnant for as long as I have. There are 568 of you now, which is so extremely wild to me; but I hope that from now on, you can all love Comet as much as I did, even if as a memory.

I hope to return to posting content both here and on my main, @mxssacre , but for now I still need time to grieve and come to terms with the loss of someone that was so incredibly intertwined with everything I've done since I was 9 years old.

Thank you for everything Comet, my heart, my soul, my love.

sooooo... *twirls her hair* how many asks should i send until kuwagami art. jk as well. the real question will be: does it happen often that someone else’s art inspires you? in fandom spaces specifically

well you see it’s like a loyalty card program, every 10 asks or so you get a complimentary kuwagami

just kidding you can just breathe in my direction and I’ll be tempted to draw them. kuwagami blast! (you've caught me on a... just okay art day lol)

anyway for my actual answer: in terms of direct inspiration, it doesn't really happen much? the last two times i did art directly based on someone else's work is probably this one from this fic, and also that time i drew art of someone else's judgment au. oh! and there's that moriohpsycho art based on this comic! (filthyguts' work is so very. hgngngghh. very good.) nothing else really comes to mind, and when i think of the other things i've been into recently there hasn't been as much opportunity for that to happen...

flex and herds = strong fixation but lmao. almost nobody else made stuff about them. nobody is surprised umineko = surprisingly i don't read much umineko fanfiction? and in terms of illustration, i certainly picked up imagery and indirect inspiration but nothing concrete enough for me to give an example... now that i think about it, i did once draw andromalius from redaction/sunny, but that was years ago, and also mostly because i was acquainted with the writer. ...i don't have that artwork on hand right now death note = didn't really get involved with the fandom + i enjoyed my own ideas well enough! ...i can't recall if i drew long-hair-L art before or after seeing other artists do it. and as for everything else the same kind of reasoning applies. didn't really get involved with the fandom or wasn't really compelled to make art in response to stuff i saw, or i just don't remember anymore.

buuuuuuut if we're opening this up to just... pulling ideas from other people? then yeah, all the time, though that kind of goes without saying when you have a creative hobby. ...it's probably going to be hard to come up with examples of this since it's more ambiguous.

there's uhhhhhh... kuwana listens to nickelback which was a @/four-white-trees invention, wasn't it? (EDIT: and @/overdevelopedglasses!) (not tagging in this post so he doesn't feel obligated to read my big ass ask responses 💀) as of writing this, it's not posted but i did end up making kuwagami art based on a nickelback song so. yknow. there's that LMAO

for sawashiro and arakawa, i do sometimes go reference @/todayisafridaynight 's art to help me with my own. ("how did he draw this part of the suit? oh, like that huh? hmm" <- this kind of thing)

and um. i'm not trying to pander to you (at least not this time), but genuinely it's one of the few examples that come to mind at this moment. but when i was writing my first kuwagami fic, i could feel the influence of the ever-changing on my brain... was turning over some of your ideas there...

ok so for me and kento, if we lived in another universe with no curses, we'd live in a city that was not toooo big, but big enough where there's always something to do <3 and we'd own a bookstore / coffee shop with cats sleeping on the bookshelves and wandering around. the city would be close enough to drive to the beach if we wanted a weekend trip, but we also make a point to travel often bc it's always been a dream of both of ours <3

levi does NOT like to talk about this, but he's a bit of a film snob teheh. he's a black & white film connoisseur, he's seen so many !! and he doesn't admit it, but he's partial to the romantic ones <3 i don't watch movies enough anymore (sobsob), so he's trying to get me to watch all of his favorites :)

i don't talk about dazai enough these days, butttt the very first gift he ever got me was a little gold heart necklace. :,,) we hadn't been together very long when he bought it, so of course he tried to act like it was no big deal, he really just thought i'd like it (& i did). but he told me much later into our relationship that he'd been in love with me since we first met, and the necklace was his way of telling me without saying the words.
